about

"Crescent" is an exploration of sound design and rhythm in a structured form.

The adjective "crescent" can mean "growing, increasing, and developing", which, in an artistic sense, is an appropriate description for the track and the process that was used to create it.

The main artistic goal was to create custom samples from raw sounds and use them in a rhythmic framework of a sample-based workflow.

All raw sounds originated in "No Input Mixing" techniques, which were processed in a variety of ways with hardware samplers and software tools. No other sound sources were used.

The rhythmic framework and structure of "Crescent" is a development as well as a departure from the primarily Ambient focus of previous releases. Nevertheless, Ambient influences are still very present in the overall structure and detail of the music.
